Dr. Lawrence D. Reed

Doctor
Dr. Lawrence D. Reed is a Kansas City native and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1975 from Kansas State University. He began his professional training in Chicago where he obtained his Doctorate of Optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry in 1980. He has been providing eye care at Advanced Eyecare since 1980 and at Blue Springs Optical since 2005. His professional interests are in primary eye care, ocular disease and contact lenses. He has licenses to use therapeutic pharmaceutical agents in the states of Missouri and Kansas. Dr. Reed has been a member of the American Optometric Association and Missouri Optometric Association for over 30 years. He is past president of the Optometric Society of Greater Kansas City and a member since 1980. He is also a member of Associated Eyecare Professionals and Vision Management Group which were formed as think tanks and study groups to allow optometric practitioners to stay at the forefront of technology and practice management ideas. In his free time, Dr. Reed enjoys golf, gardening, travel and singing with local choral groups.

Dr. Richard C. Wilson

Dr. Richard C. Wilson graduated from the University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry in 1997 where he received special training in pediatrics, ocular disease and contact lenses. Prior to optometry school, Dr. Wilson taught public school in rural Missouri and served in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm. Dr. Wilson has helped lead Advance Eyecare, PC to be one of the largest optometric practices in Jackson County, Missouri. These accomplishments led him to be the current President of Associated Eyecare Professionals, LLC, which is a consortium of the eight fastest growing optometric practices in the Greater Kansas City area. As past President and Officer of the Missouri Optometric Association Board of Directors, Dr. Wilson has enjoyed staying in the forefront of practice management issues, new technologies as well as current political issues. Dr. Wilson is the proud recipient of the MOA’s 2001 Young Optometrist of the Year award and in 2003 the MOA named him their Optometrist of the Year. Recently Dr. Wilson has been appointed Adjunct Associate Clinical Professor at the UM-St. Louis College of Optometry and is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the National Coalition of Eye Care Independent Practice Associations. Outside of optometry, Dr. Wilson enjoys singing and directing the Circuit Riders, gospel men’s vocal group and playing trombone. Recently, he and his wife, Janie, have been preparing their new Christmas tree and energy farm, Wilson’s Whispering Pines.

Dr. Jeffrey A. Harter

Dr. Jeffrey A. Harter graduated in 2005 from Pittsburg State University achieving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. After college, he attended the University of Missouri- St. Louis College of Optometry. During optometry school, Dr. Harter was named to both the Beta Sigma and Gold Key Honor Societies. Additionally, he traveled to Paraguay to help provide free eye care to impoverished families. His fourth-year external rotations included the Optometric Clinic in Honolulu, Hawaii as well as Choate Eye Associates in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Harter received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2009. Similarly to the other doctors of Advanced Eyecare/Blue Springs Optical, Dr. Harter is a member of the American Optometric Association, Missouri Optometric Association as well as the Optometric Society of Greater Kansas City. Dr. Harter joins Advanced Eyecare/Blue Springs Optical in 2010 after completing a Primary Care Residency at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Harter’s optometric interests include primary care and low vision rehabilitation. Dr. Harter has additionally been appointed as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry.

Dr. Melissa Enevoldsen

Dr. Melissa M. Enevoldsen is a native of Shawnee, Kansas. She attended the University of Kansas and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Biology. After college, Dr. Enevoldsen attended the University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry where she was involved in many student organizations, including the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. Dr. Enevoldsen’s areas of interest include pediatrics and contact lenses. She is an active member of the Kansas Optometric Association, Missouri Optometric Association, American Optometric Association and the Optometric Society of Greater Kansas City. Dr. Enevoldsen and her husband, Jeffrey, enjoy traveling, cooking, and spending time with their pug puppy, Gracie.

Dr. Dana J. Krause

Dr. Dana J. Krause is originally from Concordia, Missouri. She graduated from Missouri Western State College in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Dr. Krause received her professional training at the University Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry where she graduated with honors.
Dr. Krause joined Advanced Eyecare/Blue Springs Optical in 2006. Her areas of special interest include family eye care, pediatrics and contact lenses. Dr. Krause is a member of the American Optometric Association and Missouri Optometric Association. She is also a member of the Optometric Society of Greater Kansas City of which she is past-president. Most recently, Dr. Krause has been appointed Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry. Dr. Krause and her husband, Aaron, enjoy spending time outside, traveling, water activities and spending time with their son and twin girls.

Dr. Lauren Hendrickson

Dr. Hendrickson grew up in Nixa, MO. She graduated from Missouri State University for her undergraduate studies in 2012, majoring in Exercise and Movement Science with a minor in Biomedical Science. Soon after, Dr. Hendrickson graduated from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in Tahlequah, OK with honors. While attending optometry school, Dr. Hendrickson completed rotations at W.W. Hastings Hospital, Cherokee Nation Rural Eye Clinics, and an ocular disease focused ophthalmology group called Oklahoma Medical Eye Group. Prior to graduating she participated in two mission trips to Rotan, Honduras servicing over 2500 patients. Today, Dr. Hendrickson's areas of interest are contact lenses and ocular disease. She is an active member of the Missouri Optometric Association, Kansas Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and the Optometric Society of Greater Kansas City. Dr. Hendrickson recently joined Advanced Eyecare/Blue Springs Optical after relocating to the Kansas City area to be closer to her fiance as they plan their upcoming wedding. When she is not at work, she enjoys cooking, the outdoors, and traveling.
